What’s this HCQS 200mg?
HCQS 200mg is used to treat autoimmune conditions such as lupus and rheumatoid. It slows down the overactive immune system. HCQS 200mg can also be used to treat and prevent malaria. Hydroxychloroquine kills the malaria parasite. It is part of a group called DMARDs.

How do I use this HCQS 200mg?
With glass water, take this medication by mouth. Follow the instructions on your prescription label. This medication should not be cut, crushed, or chewed. Take the tablet whole. It is best to take it with food. It is best to not take more than what was prescribed. Keep taking this medication until your doctor tells you otherwise. Even if you feel better, you should continue to take it.
Use antacid-containing products at a different time than the medication. This medication should be taken 4 hours before or after the antacids. If you have any questions, talk to your healthcare team.
Discuss the possibility of using this medication with children with your healthcare team. This medication can be prescribed for certain conditions. However, there are precautions.
Overdose: If you feel you have taken too many of these medicines, contact the poison control center immediately.
This medicine is for you only. This medicine should not be shared with anyone else.
What happens if I forget to take my dose?
Do not miss a dose. Take it as soon as possible. Take only the next dose if it is nearing time. Do not take extra or double doses.
What might interact with this medication?
You should not take this medication along with the following:
- Cisapride
- Dronedarone
- Pimozide
- Thioridazine
You may also be able to take this medication with the following:
- Ampicillin
- Antacids
- Cimetidine
- Cyclosporine
- Digoxin
- Kaolin
- Diabetes medications, such as insulin, glipizide, and glyburide
- Medications for seizures like carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin
- Mefloquine
- Methotrexate
- Other medications so that prolong QT intervals (cause abnormal heart rhythms)
- Praziquantel

What should you be aware of while taking this HCQS 200mg?

Before and after you take this medication, your vision may be checked. If you notice any changes in your vision, contact your healthcare team immediately.
You may experience severe skin reactions. These reactions can occur weeks to months after the medication has been started. If you experience rash, fever, or other flu-like symptoms, contact your healthcare team immediately. It may appear reddish or purple, and then develop into blisters or skin peeling. You might also notice redness and swelling in the lips, neck, or under your arms.
You or your family should immediately call your care team if you notice any changes in your behavior, such as new or worsening depressive symptoms, thoughts of harming yourself, anxiety, memory loss, unusual thoughts, or disturbing thoughts.
What side effects can I expect from taking this HCQS 200mg?
You should immediately report any side effects to your doctor.
- Allergy reactions: Itching, hives, and skin rash.
- Aplastic anemia – Unusual weakness, fatigue, headaches, trouble breathing, and increased bleeding.
- Vision change
- Heart rhythm changes – irregular or fast heartbeat, dizziness or feeling lightheaded, chest pain, trouble breath
- Infections: Chest, sore throat, fever, colds, cough
- Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)–tremors or shaking, anxiety, sweating, cold or clammy skin, confusion, dizziness, rapid heartbeat
- Muscle injury – Unusual weakness, fatigue, muscle pains, dark yellow urine or brown urine, decrease in urine volume
- Tingling or pain in the feet or hands.
- Fever, rash, swelling of the lymph nodes
- The skin can become red, blistered, peeling, or loosen even inside the mouth.
- Suicide or self-harm thoughts, mood swings, depression, and worsening moods are all possible
- Bleeding or bruising so that is unusual
Side effects are usually not serious and should not be treated. If they persist or become bothersome, please inform your doctor.
